I had a WTF moment today.
So, today I was in the north metro at a secure location. Secure, as in when you get to security, they print you a nametag with an access level printed on it. Secure as in if you're not in visitor parking, you drive through an unmanned security gate, which is controlled from a tower by whether or not they recognize your vehicle. Probably the tightest security place I've been in recent years, although there are certainly more secure places... (such as the airport, or some homes in Minneapolis...)
We needed to drive through the security gate... so we pulled up to the gate in the company van... and it opened right up, no problem. We pulled up to the gate later to leave, waited about 20 seconds, and they opened it no problem. I drove back through with my car, no problem. Tried to leave. They wouldn't open the gate.
Wow. I can get in, but I can't get out?!?!?!
Seriously.
And if you're not going to let me out, shouldn't you at least come down and check me out? Search my car? Whatever you feel is necessary to prove I'm not a threat?
